What is TypeAide?
TypeAide, formerly TransAide, is an AI writing assistant for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It helps you polish English grammar, translate between Chinese and English, draft replies, look up words, and learn from corrections.
Is TypeAide the same app as TransAide?
Yes. TypeAide is the new name for TransAide. Use the App Store links on this site to find the existing Mac or iOS app. Some installed versions and store listings may still show the previous name.
How do I use it on my Mac?
Copy the text you want to work on, then choose an action from the menu bar or use a keyboard shortcut. Review the result before copying it back into your email, document, or chat.
Does it work with my iPhone keyboard?
TypeAide includes an optional AI keyboard extension for polishing, translating, and replying to text. It is an AI utility panel: keep your preferred keyboard for everyday typing, and switch to TypeAide when you need an AI action.
Do I need my own API key?
You can connect a compatible AI provider using your own endpoint and API key in Settings. Provider usage charges are separate. Available AI sources and features depend on your app version and device; check the app and App Store listing for current details.
Where does my text go?
When you use your own compatible provider, submitted text is sent to that provider for processing. Its privacy and retention policies apply. Review the Privacy Policy and the AI source selected in the app before submitting sensitive content.
